Candle Safety
Here are our top tips for getting the best (and safest) burn from your Kamana candle:
- Trim the wick to 5mm before each lighting to help prevent smoking and overheating.
- Always ensure your candle is sitting on a heat resistant surface.
- Let the first burn pool fully - burn long enough for the entire top layer of wax to melt edge-to-edge. This helps prevent tunnelling and supports an even burn every time.
- Stop burning when 1cm of wax remains at the base of the jar.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep away from drafts, pets, and small children.
- The jar will be hot after burning - allow the wax to cool completely before moving or handling.
- After extinguishing, re-centre the wick so it’s upright and ready for the next burn.
- Extinguish gently by snuffing rather than blowing, to help avoid smoke and wax splatter.
Enjoy!
